Kate| Downtown Haddonfield Senior Session
Kate’s senior session was a dream! She was so easy to work with and the camera obviously loves her…makes my job that much better! We decided to do a mix of posed and candid images in downtown Haddonfield, New Jersey as well as some on her high school campus at Bishop Eustace and also at the Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
Golden light spilled through budding trees as we wandered Haddonfield's charming streets for a senior photo session on a beautiful spring day, capturing effortless smiles, fluttering blossoms, and the soft pastels of early evening. Historic brick sidewalks, ivy-draped storefronts, and the town’s alley ways provided a mix of classic and candid backdrops that reflected the senior’s personality—equal parts polished and playful. We used natural light to highlight the glow of fresh beginnings, posed a few timeless portraits against architectural details, then moved to relaxed, in-motion shots that felt like real life unfolding. By the end of the session the images were a warm, authentic collection that celebrate this milestone with a timeless, springtime feel.
Kate has a great love for the theater, so we had to incorporate the Haddonfield Theater Arts Center in Haddonfield, New Jersey in her session, as it is where she studies the great art. I really love the mix of playful and serious in these portraits and I always look for a reflection to have some fun with. I think these images of Kate out front of the theater where she studies are a great reflection on her (see what I did there!).
These next images are some of my favorites from this session because of the blue door and how the colors pop. The rich blues create a vibrant contrast with skin tones and wardrobe, pulling the eye and adding a cinematic feel to every frame. The door’s texture and color act as a perfect backdrop — bold without overpowering — letting natural moments and genuine expressions take center stage. I love how the palette brings warmth to the scene while keeping a clean, modern look.
Downtown Haddonfield always provides beautiful backdrops for photo sessions with beautiful side streets, colorful doorways and a picturesque small town vibe.
It’s springtime, which means lots of beautiful blooms — and we had to take advantage of them. Soft light, fresh colors, and delicate petals make for the perfect backdrop to capture genuine moments. I love the way the pink flowers pop in the background in these images and really compliment her outfit choice. Pretty in pink!
In addition to being a thespian, Kate is also a crew rowing member — so naturally we had to get some images of her in her natural habitat. The Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken, New Jersey is where she practices so it was the most fitting location for the next part of her senior session. It was a beautiful, golden lit evening and the sun hit the water perfectly. There was enough of a breeze in the air that gave her hair some natural movement and paired with the glorious back light- it’s a photographer’s dream.
We did some photos out on the dock and then some right by the boathouse, where Kate used an oar as her prop and of course we had a little fun with that. She also decided to wear her Eustace (her high school) shirt for some of the photos and then also her St. Joes (the college that she will be attending) shirt for some as well, which I thought was the perfect idea.
Kate- you were an absolute pleasure to work with and capture and it was so much fun getting to shoot in all the locations that mean so much to you and that you such a strong connection with.
Best of Luck with the remainder of your senior year and have the best time in college at St. Josephs!
